Hit a light switch this afternoon and for some reason thought about how “for granted” I take both the light and electricity.
Hopped down that thought. Here’s a sampling:
We average ten to twenty blinks per minute. When is the last time you thought about blinking?
The heart beats somewhere between 60 to 100 times per minute. Have you thought about your heartbeat?
I flush the toilet and waste disappears…have I thought about where it goes?
That light I switched on almost always turns on. Do I ever think about the light or electricity
There is nothing wrong with not thinking about such things.
But God’s grace pours on me moment by moment. Have I given that thought?
Jesus intercedes for me. When is the last time I gave that consideration?
Every person I saw today is a creation of God, and is enroute to either heaven or hell. Have I dwelled on those facts recently?
Thoughts are important.
Do I have the courage to pray Psalm 26.2? “Examine me, O Lord, and test me. Evaluate my inner thoughts and motives.”
Do I regularly pray Psalm 19.14? “May my words and my thoughts be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, my sheltering rock and my redeemer.”
Just something to think about.
